Make a xp cd which can recognize sata hdd ( How to make it?)
Download Service pack 2. Download Service pack 2 English, Download other languages.
Download drivers and put them your computers d disk.
Start your computer from cd/dvd. If you dont know how to set it please read this page.

Asus M50 Entertainment Notebook

The Asus M50 entertainment notebook will come in a couple of variants - the M50Sv-B1 model features an Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 1.2GHz processor and a HD DVD optical drive (what the?!) while the M50Sv-A1 has a T9300 2.5GHz processor and a standard DVD burner. Both of them will be powered graphically by the GeForce 9500M GS 512MB dedicated video card which packs more than a decent punch, while you get a 15.4″ 1,440 x 900 display. 3GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive and Altec Lansing stereo speakers round off the list of features. Notebook vendors considering battery cells from China, says paper

Due to the current battery cell shortage, worldwide first-tier notebook vendors are thinking about adopting battery cells from China, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has already decided to adopt cells from China, while Asustek Computer is considering starting certification. However, even if the cells are certified successfully, adoption will not start until the second half this year, noted the paper. (more…)

1. Sleep Is Good
Use the operating system’s power-management features (in Windows XP, under Power Options in the Control Panel; or in Vista, under Mobile PC in the Control Panel) to set aggressive targets for when the display will go dark (say, after five minutes of inactivity) and when the machine will slip into sleep mode (no longer than ten minutes of inactivity). And if you can spare the extra time it takes for the machine to resume, set the PC to hibernate, not just sleep, when you close the lid.

ECS expects April notebook shipments to drop, says paper

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) expects its notebook shipment in April will drop slightly on month due to effects from a component shortage, however the overall second quarter performance will still be better than that of the first quarter, according to a Economic Daily News (EDN) report which cited sources at the company.

The company’s monthly notebook shipments in January and February were only around 200,000 units due to a shortage of batteries and a fewer number of working days, noted the paper, which added that shipments in March will have a chance to rise back to 300,000 units.

Batteries in Short Supply for Dell Laptops

Daniel Chang, an analyst with Macquarie Securities, said first-quarter laptop-battery supply was already constrained and that the fire had driven PC makers to other suppliers. Makers of personal computers might be able to offset the rising cost of batteries with other components like memory whose prices have been falling.
Dell said the personal computer industry was experiencing a shortage of laptop batteries, partly because of a recent fire at a major supplier, but that the company was working with other suppliers to limit price increases. (more…)
