    Great!
Followed the steps one by one and downgraded my dv5 1030ev Pavilion from Vista SP1 to XP Pro SP3!

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO INSTALL SERVICE PACK 2 or 3 RIGHT AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF XP. OTHERWISE YOU WILL EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE DISPLAY DRIVERS!!!!

Can anyone confirm that by proceeding with the above method ALL the functionality of the HP Pavillion DV5t would work EXACTLY the same as they are running in preloaded Windows Vista.

I just want to make sure before making the move.

    Some doubtful items are :

    1. Touch controls for volume and various icons for wireless in the quick touch bar dont function properly / show incorrect colours.

    2. Screen brigthness controls with Fn+F7/F8 not working properly.

    3. Has anyone actually tried using the HDMI in Windows XP to output the display onto the LCD TV.

    4. E-SATA interface not working properly.

    5. Any other issue which distinguishes the laptops full functions and capability in Windows Vista and different behaviour in Windows XP

I have read all these repeated symptoms in a number of forums around the web with similar people trying to install Windows XP on their DV5.

If anyone confirms all these glitches are taken care of then I would be more than happy to follow this guide.

    Thanks for reading.
