Acer Gemstone Blue Unveiled
In it’s New York international press conference, Aces has just unveiled the second generation Gemstone laptop, coming in blue. The laptops feature 16-inch and 18.4-inch displays, with 16:9 1080p resolution, 1.5Ghz Intel Penryn CPU, 512MB Nvidia 9650m GS graphics card and Blu-ray drive.Acers CineReal system offloads the BD playback to the GPU offering Dolby headphone for the 16-inch model and 5.1 surround sound for the 18.4-inch one. The little one’s battery lifetime is 2.5 hours, while the other a bit more, with 3 hours. Both models are expected to start shipping in about one month, for $900, respectively $1,700 with the basic configuration.
